Become Certified in Social Media Networking

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Once I became certified in Social Media Networking my business took on a whole new caliber and niche market.  I have new clients coming in weekly.  I am currently working with a writer and we do package deals to help our clients have great success with social media.

Here are some more examples of what getting certified with Craig Cannings and VAClassroom.com can do for your business:

One graduate of the Social Marketing Specialist Training Program at VAClassroom mentioned that she landed a great new Social Media client in the plumbing business. Plumbing? If pumbing businesses are starting to use Social Media Marketing strategies, then can you imagine the massive potential client base that is just waiting to be tapped into?

Another graduate from VAClassroom, mentioned that she is working with a Real-Estate company setting up a blog and performing other Social Media Marketing activities.

There are so many vertical markets to tap into and the opportunities for Social Media Marketing Specialists are truly endless at this point!

Since Craig at VAClassroom is so excited to hear these success stories from the graduates of the training program, he wants to make sure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to be trained in this “high demand” area right now.

So, VAClassroom is running a special for the last ten days of April. They are knocking off an additional $100 on our training program ($397) and offering it to you for $297 until midnight on April 30th.

If you are serious about growing your business in 2009, then there is no better opportunity right now then to position yourself as a Social Media Marketing Specialist.

Who’s that Girl?

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

That’s me!  I’ll tell you more about “my girl” in a minute but first I am so excited to show off my new blog design.  It was definitely time to give it a make-over. Beginning with the new look,  I will  also be posting new content each week from guest posts to articles and reviews of tools and tricks of the trade that will help us all work better and smarter.

When re-designing my new blog look, I decided to put “my girl” up at the top nice and prominent.   Why?  Because she makes me smile and there is a lot to be said about surrounding yourself with people and things that make you feel good throughout your day.   I manage multiple clients and several support team members and therefore it is easy to get into the grove of moving through my day, managing the sometimes wild pace and multiple requests and simply “getting through” the day.

Well, that’s where “my girl” comes in.   It is me – sitting at the computer, a cup of coffee in hand, trusty notebook at my side and a smile on my face.  Admittedly, I don’t always have the super sleek beautiful high-heels on (that is one of those home office perks that I sometimes (often) take advantage of).  She is a symbol for me that makes me smile, reminds me of how much I love what I do and how grateful I am to be able to be a Virtual Assistant, Entrepreneur and mother.

Someone recently said to me “Jo – she is cute but you aren’t going to get any business with a cute logo.” Perhaps that is true. However, I challenge anyone who thinks that to think again.  Wouldn’t you rather work with someone who is happy, loves what they do and does it with a smile on their face?  After all, happy people are generally better at what they do and are more enjoyable to work with.

With my coffee in hand, computer and a smile, I’m off to work! Till next time……

Online coupons

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

As a Virtual Assistant you will have clients ask you to purchase items online.  Or maybe you would like to make purchases yourself.  When purchasing an online item and it asks for a promotional code then there is one somewhere to be found.  (I learned this from the John Tesh radio show – thanks John!).

I was buying an online product to download to my computer and saw that it asked for a promotional code.   I did not have one so I went in search of one.  I found one at www.retailmenot.com.  This website is one of several that you will find to get online coupons.  I ended up saving $10 on my purchase!  And it took me less than 5 minutes to find this website and coupon.

Once you are in the coupon website you can do a search for your product that you are wanting to buy.  If you don’t find one move on to the next site.  More than likely you will find one.

A lot of clients won’t know this as I didn’t.  This is a great way to build rapport with your clients and build even more trust in your services.  They will think that you are looking out for them.

What is a Virtual Assistant?

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

What is a Virtual Assistant is probably the most common question I get from people.  A Virtual Assistant or VA for short, is a business owner who helps clients grow their businesses through administrative support.

Virtual Assistance is a fairly new administrative profession however people have been doing it since the early 1990’s.   Most VA’s that I know of work from home, however, there are some that have office spaces away from home.

Virtual Assistants are business owners who work from their homes and provide administrative support for their clients.  Clients range from realtors, bankers, attorneys, coaches, speakers, small business owners and many more.  My clients range from marketing experts, coaches, realtors and small business owners and they are located all over the US and Canada.

I help them do their administrative tasks such as customer service, database management, email marketing, social media networking, power point presentations, website updating and many other tasks.

To be a Virtual Assistant you will need to have a computer, phone and possibly a fax machine although now people use efax and other services like that.

So if you are looking at working from home and would like to help others grow their business, consider being a Virtual Assistant.  It is a great feeling when you see your client’s business grow and in return your business grows as well.
