How can I help you?

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Have you ever asked someone, “How can I help make your day better?”  You will be amazed at the responses.  I don’t care if you are having the best day in the world… someone can always make it better.  Asking that question at the first opportunity saying hello loosens any prior tension and relaxes the person.

Start today…   People need to know that they are valued and cared for.  So every person you see today say “Hi, how can I help make your day better…?”  and start having fun.

I would love to hear the responses you get from people.  Feel free to share them with me and I can add them to my next blog.

Who’s that Girl?

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

That’s me!  I’ll tell you more about “my girl” in a minute but first I am so excited to show off my new blog design.  It was definitely time to give it a make-over. Beginning with the new look,  I will  also be posting new content each week from guest posts to articles and reviews of tools and tricks of the trade that will help us all work better and smarter.

When re-designing my new blog look, I decided to put “my girl” up at the top nice and prominent.   Why?  Because she makes me smile and there is a lot to be said about surrounding yourself with people and things that make you feel good throughout your day.   I manage multiple clients and several support team members and therefore it is easy to get into the grove of moving through my day, managing the sometimes wild pace and multiple requests and simply “getting through” the day.

Well, that’s where “my girl” comes in.   It is me – sitting at the computer, a cup of coffee in hand, trusty notebook at my side and a smile on my face.  Admittedly, I don’t always have the super sleek beautiful high-heels on (that is one of those home office perks that I sometimes (often) take advantage of).  She is a symbol for me that makes me smile, reminds me of how much I love what I do and how grateful I am to be able to be a Virtual Assistant, Entrepreneur and mother.

Someone recently said to me “Jo – she is cute but you aren’t going to get any business with a cute logo.” Perhaps that is true. However, I challenge anyone who thinks that to think again.  Wouldn’t you rather work with someone who is happy, loves what they do and does it with a smile on their face?  After all, happy people are generally better at what they do and are more enjoyable to work with.

With my coffee in hand, computer and a smile, I’m off to work! Till next time……
