Online coupons

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

As a Virtual Assistant you will have clients ask you to purchase items online.  Or maybe you would like to make purchases yourself.  When purchasing an online item and it asks for a promotional code then there is one somewhere to be found.  (I learned this from the John Tesh radio show – thanks John!).

I was buying an online product to download to my computer and saw that it asked for a promotional code.   I did not have one so I went in search of one.  I found one at www.retailmenot.com.  This website is one of several that you will find to get online coupons.  I ended up saving $10 on my purchase!  And it took me less than 5 minutes to find this website and coupon.

Once you are in the coupon website you can do a search for your product that you are wanting to buy.  If you don’t find one move on to the next site.  More than likely you will find one.

A lot of clients won’t know this as I didn’t.  This is a great way to build rapport with your clients and build even more trust in your services.  They will think that you are looking out for them.

What is a Virtual Assistant?

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

What is a Virtual Assistant is probably the most common question I get from people.  A Virtual Assistant or VA for short, is a business owner who helps clients grow their businesses through administrative support.

Virtual Assistance is a fairly new administrative profession however people have been doing it since the early 1990’s.   Most VA’s that I know of work from home, however, there are some that have office spaces away from home.

Virtual Assistants are business owners who work from their homes and provide administrative support for their clients.  Clients range from realtors, bankers, attorneys, coaches, speakers, small business owners and many more.  My clients range from marketing experts, coaches, realtors and small business owners and they are located all over the US and Canada.

I help them do their administrative tasks such as customer service, database management, email marketing, social media networking, power point presentations, website updating and many other tasks.

To be a Virtual Assistant you will need to have a computer, phone and possibly a fax machine although now people use efax and other services like that.

So if you are looking at working from home and would like to help others grow their business, consider being a Virtual Assistant.  It is a great feeling when you see your client’s business grow and in return your business grows as well.
